Series Information - 2014 Middle Georgia Runners for Christ Series:
(1st race will be "Race for Grace" on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2013 and will end the race before 2014 "Race for Grace." The 2014 awards will be at 2014 Jingle all the Way on December 20. There should be over 35 races in at least 17 cities. There will be many distance options including two trail runs and one or more mud runs.)

The 2014 series will be a points series. You must be registered as a "Runner or Walker for Christ" to receive points and participate in the series. If you are not registered at time of race, you have 7 days to do so or you will NOT receive any points for that race. You only have to register once so if you registered in 2013, you are registered for 2014. For every race you participate in you receive 15 points. Points are awarded for participating in multiple races at the same event. For races over 1 mile you receive age group points if you finish in the top 5 male and female in your age group. Only those registers as a "Runner or Walker for Christ" count so your place of finish may be higher in our points series than in the race itself. You receive 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 respectively for 1st thru 5th in your age group. You receive double points for half marathons. Age groups will be 7 and under, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, 16-17, 18-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-95, 96-100. Age groups will be based on your age as of 1/1/2014.

Since participation will vary by age groups, winners will be the greater of 5 deep or top 10% in age group and rounded up to next highest number. The top 10 overall regardless of age will also receive special recognition.

The results of all RFC races will be posted at www.runnersforchrist.org. We will also maintain a spreadsheet that lists RFC points but it will only be updated by 10th of each month. Please review the spreadsheet regularly and report anything not consistent with your records. Should you be unable to open spreadsheet, you can inquire about your results via e-mail.

Many races will offer a discount if you register on-line. The major reason to register as a Runner or Walker for Christ comes from Psalm 107:2a, "Let the redeemed of the Lord say so." Another major purpose for the Runners for Christ series is to promote runs/walks that donate to evangelistic Christian projects. ALL races on this series donate a minimum of 25% to Christian ministries and the majority donate 100%.

Thanks to everyone that purchases a Runner's for Christ shirt to support the RFC series. This money is used for awards plus to purchase equipment. In 2013 we purchased two print timers and two computers. In addition, McDonalds and JET Food Stores each donated display clocks. RFC races can use free of cost and thus give more money to ministries. This is another major purpose of Runners for Christ. We would love to have a picture of you wearing your RFC shirt to post on Facebook. E-mail your pictures to runnersforchrist@progressivetel.com. We encourage you to wear RFC shirts even at non RFC races to let everyone know you support "Runners for Christ." RFC shirts are on sale at most RFC races for $15 moisture wicking and $10 cotton (limited supply). We prefer not but will mail a moisture wicking shirt at $20 each and cotton at $15 (subject to availability).
