Project Information
For several years, the Board of the Macon Tracks Running Club (MTRC) has been planning for the development of the property commonly referred to as “the Triangle”, on the corner of Old Forsyth Road and Rivoli Drive. This area has been historically used by many of our local runners and cyclists as a parking and gathering area for many years.

Now being called The Triangle Commons Project, this is collaboration between our club, the city, local businesses and individuals within the community. The MTRC Board has worked diligently over this past year on the designs and numerous approvals required to move forward on the site work and construction that will not only enhance the aesthetics of the area, but also be an area in which our citizens are proud to convene for our outdoor activities and training.

The scope of the project is to provide asphalt paving and brick paver areas, landscaped greenery, an attractive courtyard with a brick wall seating and add a brick and wrought iron fence beside the wooded area along the property line. In November, we received the final notification that all requirements with the Macon/Bibb County government, Norfolk Southern Railroad, Colonial Pipeline Company and related entities had all been satisfied.

MTRC has committed our designated reserves towards the project. Additionally, several generous individuals and companies have also donated their professional services to get the project to our current status - to complete the project by spring 2016. Preliminary cost projections are approximately $60,000.

We would like to ask you to consider partnering with us to provide this exciting enhancement to our community of active friends. This will be a wonderful place to connect up with fellow runners, walkers and/or cyclists that share common active goals. Your investment would allow us to move forward with hiring a contractor and begin construction in the coming months....thank you for your consideration of making a tax-deductible donation!
